We're looking for someone with real finance or accounting experience who can write a course module the way they'd explain it to a friend, not the way a textbook would. You'll take a topic like debt payoff order or how compound interest actually works and turn it into a short, practical lesson with a worksheet attached.
This isn't a marketing copywriting role. We need someone who's actually built a budget for a client, reconciled a set of accounts, or advised on a pension, and can turn that hands-on knowledge into something a total beginner can follow in ten minutes. Writing samples or past course material are welcome but not required to apply.
You'll write new course modules at a steady pace, working from a shared outline we agree on together. That includes the lesson text, a simple worksheet or template, and a short quiz to check the lesson landed. You'll also review and refresh older modules when rules or numbers change, so the courses stay accurate over time.
Expect some back-and-forth with our small editorial team before anything goes live, mostly to keep the tone consistent across courses. You won't be doing this alone, and you won't be expected to know everything about every financial topic from day one.
A background in finance, accounting, budgeting advice, or a closely related field, ideally a few years of hands-on work rather than just qualifications on paper. You should be comfortable explaining a technical idea in plain English without losing accuracy, and open to editorial feedback on tone and structure.
No teaching or writing background required, though it helps. We care more about whether you can spot the part of a topic that actually confuses beginners and address it directly, rather than covering everything a textbook would.
This is a remote, part-time, contract role, with hours that flex depending on how many modules you take on. Pay is per module, agreed before you start writing. You can be based anywhere as long as you can join the occasional video call with our editorial team.
